Moodloom
Your data, in plain words

Privacy Policy

Moodloom is built to be used without an account. We collect as little as we can, keep it for as short as we can, and never sell it. Here is exactly what happens behind the palette.

Last updated · June 11, 2026

The short version

  • You can search without signing up. We do not ask for your name or email to style a mood.
  • We store the prompts you search so you can revisit and share them, and so we can improve the results.
  • We use a cookie and a coarse fingerprint to remember your session and keep a fair daily search limit.
  • We use analytics to understand how the product is used. We do not sell your data to anyone.

What we collect

Because Moodloom works without a login, most of what we hold is tied to an anonymous session rather than to you by name.

  • Your search prompts. The words you type, the palette and edit we generate from them, and a snapshot of the resulting pieces. This is what lets a search keep a stable link you can return to or share.
  • A session identifier. A randomly generated id stored in a cookie on your device, set the first time you arrive. It is a handle for your recent searches and the daily limit, not a login.
  • A visitor fingerprint. A one-way, non-reversible hash derived from your IP address, browser, and language settings. It exists only so the daily search limit survives clearing a cookie or going incognito. We cannot turn it back into your IP address.
  • Usage and device data. Pages viewed, interactions, approximate location, browser and device type, and similar technical signals, gathered through analytics so we can see what works and fix what does not.

How we use it

  • To generate your result: read your prompt, compose a palette and mood board, and find matching pieces.
  • To remember your recent searches and let you revisit or share a search by its link.
  • To enforce a fair daily search limit so the service stays available and affordable.
  • To understand usage in aggregate, debug problems, and improve the quality of the edits Moodloom produces.
  • To keep Moodloom secure and to comply with the law where we are required to.

Cookies and similar technologies

Moodloom sets a first-party session cookie the first time you visit. It holds a random id with no personal information in it and lasts about a year, so your recent searches and your place against the daily limit stick around between visits. Our analytics provider may also set cookies or use local storage to recognise return visits. You can clear or block these in your browser settings, though doing so may reset your history and limit.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We do rely on a small set of trusted providers who process data on our behalf so Moodloom can function. Each receives only what it needs for its part of the job.

  • AI model providers, including Anthropic (Claude), turn your prompt into a style brief. Your prompt text is sent to generate the result.
  • Search and media providers run queries against the open web to assemble your mood board and shoppable pieces.
  • Our hosting and database providers, including Vercel and Supabase, run the app and store your searches securely.
  • Our analytics provider, PostHog, helps us measure and improve the product, including aggregated usage and, where enabled, session-level diagnostics.
  • Authorities or legal successors, only where we are legally required to disclose, or if Moodloom is ever part of a merger or acquisition.

When you click through to a retailer or independent label, you leave Moodloom and that company’s own privacy policy governs what happens next. We do not control their sites and are not responsible for their practices.

How long we keep it

We keep stored searches for as long as they are useful for revisiting, sharing, and improving Moodloom, and we hold session and limit data only as long as it serves those purposes. When data is no longer needed, we delete it or strip it of anything that could identify a session.

Your choices and rights

You stay in control. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the data we hold, or to object to how we use it.

  • Clear your cookies to reset your session and recent-search history on a device.
  • Use your browser's private mode or tracker controls to limit analytics.
  • Email us to ask what we hold about a session, or to request its deletion, and we will do our best to honour it.

How we protect it

We use reputable infrastructure, encrypted connections, and access controls to guard the data we hold. No service can promise perfect security, but we treat your information with care and keep our exposure deliberately small.

Children

Moodloom is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has used Moodloom and you would like that data removed, please write to us and we will take care of it.

Changes to this policy

As Moodloom evolves, this policy may change with it. When we make a meaningful update, we will revise the date at the top of this page. We encourage you to check back now and then.
