A crimson red katan silk saree handwoven in Varanasi over a fine zari-striped ground, patterned with bird butis scattered across the body and a striking bird border — rows of birds worked in silver zari — running along the pallu end. Above sits a striped zari panel that frames the figurative design beautifully. Worked in kadwa, each motif is individually woven into the cloth. The bird motif, drawn from the storytelling tradition of Banarasi weaving, gives this deep red saree real warmth and character. Suited to weddings, festive gatherings and celebrations — pairs well with emerald, jade or pearl jewellery. Video of the Saree
