Kalpataru Floral Kalamkari Silk Saree - Violet and Grey

The saturated and rich violet body of this saree contrasts with a light grey pallu adorned with hand-painted leaves, flowers and flourishes. Comes attached with an intricate floral hand-painted Kalamkari blouse fabric in grey. Material: Mulberry silk woven in Kanchipuram Colour: Violet and Grey Length: 5.50m Blouse: 85cm Each Kanchipuram silk saree in our Kalpataru range is hand-painted by master artists in Kalahasti who have carried forward this tradition over generations. The sarees are painted using natural pigments derived from tree bark, fruit peels and flowers, washed in running river water and bleached by the sun. Every saree is moulded by the colours, water and sunlight of the region, and each line, stroke and variation is a testament to the artist’s skill and labour.  Note: Since the traditional Kalamkari process involves multiple rounds of preparation and washing, the attached blouse piece on this saree is slightly smaller than our standard allowance due to shrinkage.
