The Peshawari is a traditional Indian sandal with roots in the North-West frontier — and one of the few pieces of South Asian footwear that's stayed essentially unchanged for a hundred years. Hand-woven leather across the vamp, open heel with a thin strap, leather sole. No metal, no rubber, no synthetic anywhere. Worn with kurta, denim, or barefoot around the house. Built in Pune in the same way Peshawari sandals have always been built — with weaving that takes longer than most people would bother with, and leather that improves rather than wears out.
A mood, an occasion, a feeling, matched to real, wearable pieces from independent Indian brands.
