A handwoven Banarasi Katan silk saree in soft pink and lilac, drawn over with butterfly motifs in densely packed Tanchoi work across the body. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari — the satin-faced ground holds the resham detailing close, with the butterflies rising in subtle relief. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom. Tanchoi is one of the most refined Banarasi traditions — pattern is carried entirely by warp and weft, with no extra weft floats, so the back of the drape reads almost as cleanly as the front. The luxury lies in the density of motif packing: the loom advances slowly, and the resham and zari arrive together, motif by motif, until the surface reads as one continuous composition. Styling Note Drapes beautifully Nivi-style with the pallu pleated narrow so the butterfly scatter reads in flight. Pair with delicate gold or polki and a tonal lilac or ivory raw-silk blouse.
