A handwoven Banarasi Katan silk saree in refined blue, drawn over with densely packed Tanchoi motifs in resham silk threads across the body. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari — a Tanchoi border carries the body composition into the pallu in a single, continuous rhythm. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom. Tanchoi is the satin-faced Banarasi tradition where the motif is built entirely by warp and weft, with no extra weft floats — the back of a true Tanchoi reads almost as clean as the front. Layered with resham silk in fine colour gradations, the motifs sit flush with the surface but carry depth, and the loom advances pick by pick at the pace of the design. Styling Note Drape Nivi-style with the pallu pleated narrow so the Tanchoi field reads as one continuous composition. Pair with polki, classic gold or a single statement choker, and a tonal blue, contrast coral or ivory raw silk blouse.
