A handwoven Banarasi dupatta in soft lilac, woven in Pure Katan Silk and carrying thread-by-thread leaf motifs in measured zari, drawn evenly across the field. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari — the border frames both ends of the drape in measured discipline. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom. The defining patience of a Kadhua weave is not in any single motif but in the relationship between them. Each butti is woven separately into the body of the cloth and the spacing is held by hand-count across thousands of picks. The discipline is invisible at a glance and unmistakable up close — and it is what makes a Kadhua piece read as one continuous composition rather than a scattering of decoration. Styling Note The dupatta is best draped over a kurta or lehenga set, with the border allowed to fall along the front. Pair with antique gold or polki jewellery and a ivory or tonal lilac raw silk kurta so the weave leads the eye.
