A handwoven Banarasi Munga silk saree in mango yellow, drawn over with meenakari motifs in coloured silk and zari across the body. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari — an intricate Banarasi border frames the drape, and the meenakari work enamels each motif in two registers at once. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom. Meenadar layered with Kadhua is among the most refined Banarasi compositions on the loom — coloured silks are introduced alongside the zari so every motif carries enamelled depth without sacrificing the gold work. Munga silk gives the cloth its natural sheen and weight; the luxury of the drape is in the meeting of three threads — silk, zari, and resham — placed motif by motif. Styling Note Drape Nivi-style with the pallu fanned wide so the meenakari work reads in the light. Pair with classic gold or temple jewellery and a contrast green, deep maroon or ivory raw-silk blouse.
