

An elegant half and half saree that brings together Kanchipuram silk and silk organza using the korvai weaving technique. Hand-painted Kalamkari flowers and leaves grow across the subtle checks of the organza while the lower section has kolam-inspired motifs woven in pure zari that carry over through the pallu. Comes attached with plain blouse fabric in black. The sarees are painted using natural pigments derived from tree bark, fruit peels and flowers, washed in running river water and bleached by the sun. Every saree is moulded by the colours, water and sunlight of the region, and each line, stroke and variation is a testament to the artist’s skill and labour. Note: Since the traditional Kalamkari process involves multiple rounds of preparation and washing, the attached blouse piece on this saree is slightly smaller than our standard allowance due to shrinkage.
