A handwoven Banarasi Katan silk saree in pale pink, drawn over with mesmerising floral and paisley motifs in subtle hints of colour — a Kimkhab composition in the gentler register. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari, with an intricate border closing the body and an elaborate aanchal that completes the pallu. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom. Kimkhab is the high register of Banarasi metallic weave — historically a brocade reserved for the most ornate compositions. Layered with Kadhua and Jamdani techniques here, every motif is built into the cloth thread by thread (Kadhua) with selective coloured-thread inlays (Jamdani), giving the piece a textured surface that reads differently at every angle. The luxury is the cumulative skill across two traditions. Styling Note Drapes beautifully Nivi-style with the pallu pleated narrow to show the floral inlay. Pair with classic gold, polki, or a single statement choker; a deep blush or ivory blouse keeps the palette close.
