An orchid pink katan silk saree handwoven in Varanasi in the resham tanchoi technique, the body covered in a dense all-over floral jaal — blooms and vines worked in multicolour resham of rust, gold, sage and cream. The pallu and border carry the same flowing florals, finished with a diamond-jaal edge. Tanchoi is among the finest of Banarasi weaves — multiple resham weft threads woven into a smooth, satin-like surface with no floats on the reverse, so the colour comes from the silk itself rather than surface embroidery. The result is a saree with a fluid drape and a soft, painterly richness. Suited to festive gatherings, receptions and celebrations — pairs well with emerald, jade or green stone jewellery.
A mood, an occasion, a feeling, matched to real, wearable pieces from independent Indian brands.
