A beige Banarasi saree in pure Kora silk, with Kadhua butti drawn thread by thread across the sheer body. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari, with an intricate Banarasi border framing the drape and an anchor motif closing the anchal. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom. Kora silk is one of the lighter Banarasi grounds, and Kadhua on Kora is among the harder combinations — the sheer field shows every loom decision. Each butti reads precisely because it was placed individually, weft by weft, in a way no quicker technique allows. Styling Note Drape Nivi for a clean reading of the motifs, or open-pallu to display the sheer field. Pair with antique-gold or polki — beige gives the metal room to glow. A champagne, cream or pale-gold raw silk blouse keeps the palette quiet.
