A handwoven Banarasi kora silk saree in ivory beige, drawn over with a mesmerising floral jaal in Kadhua across the body. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari — an intricate zari border closes the body, finishing in a meenadar aanchal where coloured silk threads enamel the zari in fine, jewel-like detail. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom. A Jangla on kora is among the more demanding compositions on the loom — every flower in the jaal is built into the cloth thread by thread in Kadhua, and the sheer ground means there is nowhere for the placement to hide. The textile is a luxury because every weft has to land cleanly. Styling Note Drapes beautifully Nivi or Lehenga style with the pallu fanned wide to read the jaal. Pair with classic gold or polki, a contrast ivory or pale-emerald blouse, and minimal hair to let the floral work read clean.
