A silver grey pure silk saree from the Khinkhwab Gold collection, handwoven in the ektara technique with real zari. The entire body is covered in a dense all-over jaal of large multicoloured florals — orange, pink, yellow, lavender and green blooms scrolling across the silver silk ground in every direction. A cream tissue border with fine pink stripe lines and scattered multicolour comma bootis frames the drape, leading into a cream tissue pallu. The ektara technique uses a single shuttle to build the pattern, requiring the weaver to introduce each colour thread by hand for every motif manually. At this density of all-over floral coverage, the construction is extraordinarily labour-intensive — and the real zari woven through the border adds both weight and light to the finished drape. Suited to weddings, receptions and festive occasions — pairs beautifully with uncut diamond, polki or pastel stone jewellery.
A mood, an occasion, a feeling, matched to real, wearable pieces from independent Indian brands.
