The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari — the Kora ground throws the resham and gold work forward in light. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom. Yellow is a colour that asks the zari to sit gently — too forward and the gold reads dim, too quiet and the cloth loses its weight. Kadhua delivers the precise middle: every motif built thread by thread, with the weft considered against the warmth of the ground.
