Kalpataru Kamadhenu Kalamkari Silk Saree - Peach

Lord Krishna plays the flute against a background of peach pink, surrounded by a field of cows and flowers. The body and border are enjoined with the korvai weaving technique. The striking magenta pallu complements the pink body with its intricately woven gold zari. The sarees are painted using natural pigments derived from tree bark, fruit peels and flowers, washed in running river water and bleached by the sun. Every saree is moulded by the colours, water and sunlight of the region, and each line, stroke and variation is a testament to the artist’s skill and labour.  Note: Since the traditional Kalamkari process involves multiple rounds of preparation and washing, the attached blouse piece on this saree is slightly smaller than our standard allowance due to shrinkage.
