

The well-known Lambadi community is known for its love for colour and their houses have vibrant, colourful doors and walls. These eye-catching and striking wiro-bound notebooks are ideal for writing, doodling, scrapbooking, sketching and for stationery hoarders. This artwork is part of the Darwaza series made by Aditi Maithreya. The original paintings of this series were made as part of The Sketchbook Project of the Brooklyn Art Library in New York. The series was primarily made using watercolours. Each door in this collection is inspired by doors from across India and comes with a personal touch in terms of elements like colour, aesthetics and so on. Every painting also has a woman donning traditional or contemporary apparel - capturing a little of the vast cultural fabric of the country. The concept has a deeper significance as well.
