A multicolour rangkat katan silk saree handwoven in Varanasi, the body built up in horizontal colour bands — red, magenta, yellow, peach, purple and lilac — each stripe alive with sona-rupa zari buti in gold and silver. A deep red brocade pallu and border, dense with floral kalga and jaal, anchor the spectrum at either end. Rangkat is one of the most demanding Banarasi techniques. The colour bands aren't dyed or printed onto the cloth; each section of warp is woven in a different colour, joined seam to seam on the loom, so the rainbow is built thread by thread. The contrast brocade is woven separately on the same loom, the saree finishing as a single continuous handwoven piece. Free shipping across India and worldwide. Suited to weddings, receptions and festive evenings — pairs well with emerald, polki or kundan jewellery. Video of the Saree Click here to view the underskirt Click here for blouse Stitching
