Kalpataru Wildflower Kalamkari Silk Saree - Maroon

A bed of flowers blooms in red and blue across the cream body of this Kanchipuram silk saree. A striped zari pallu in maroon provides visual relief. Comes attached with plain blouse fabric in maroon. The sarees are painted using natural pigments derived from tree bark, fruit peels and flowers, washed in running river water and bleached by the sun. Every saree is moulded by the colours, water and sunlight of the region, and each line, stroke and variation is a testament to the artist’s skill and labour.  Note: Since the traditional Kalamkari process involves multiple rounds of preparation and washing, the attached blouse piece on this saree is slightly smaller than our standard allowance due to shrinkage.
