It was previously reserved for the use of royalty. Muga silk can be dyed. Muga Silk originated in Assam. Materials used Silk yarn from the Antheraea Assamensis silkworm and embroidery threads. One of the major highlights of Muga Silk is its longevity. It is said that generally, a Muga Silk fabric outlives the wearer. This fabric is woven with pure Muga and Tussar Silk threads. Tussar Silk, also known by its Sanskrit name Kosa silk, is produced from Tusser silkworms. Tussar is valued for its texture and natural gold colour, which is unusually rich and deep.
