Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom. Chinar is among the most expressive of the Jangla compositions — the flowers carry their own weight against the maroon ground. Layered with Kadhua and the badla zari technique, this piece reads as something between fabric and sculpture; every motif takes its own loom hour.
