The Astire is a whole-cut black oxford — one piece of leather wrapped around the foot, with the only seam running up the heel. Full-grain calfskin, no toe seam, no quarters, no brogueing, no decoration. The whole-cut is the hardest construction in formal shoe-making — most makers won't attempt it because it requires a single panel of leather large enough and clean enough to cover the upper. Goodyear-welted leather sole. Worn with a tuxedo, a charcoal suit, anything that demands the cleanest possible silhouette. Made in our Pune atelier.
A mood, an occasion, a feeling, matched to real, wearable pieces from independent Indian brands.
