The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari — an intricate Banarasi border closes the drape, with the aanchal carrying the same meena language into the pallu. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom. Meenadar on Kadhua is one of the slowest and most rewarding Banarasi traditions — coloured resham silks are introduced alongside the zari, pick by pick, so each motif carries enamelled depth without sacrificing the gold work.
