In a refined sandalwood beige palette, this Banarasi dupatta in Georgette Silk carries Kadhua motifs enamelled in Meenadar — coloured silk meenakari sitting alongside zari. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari — the border runs along both ends in a continuous pattern. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom. A Meenadar weave layers coloured resham over the zari motif, working each colour change pick by pick on the loom. That layered approach is what gives Meenadar its jewel-like quality — the motifs read as enamelled rather than printed, and the colour stays in the cloth as a part of the weave rather than sitting on its surface. Styling Note The dupatta is best draped over a kurta or lehenga set, with the border allowed to fall along the front. Pair with antique gold or temple jewellery and a tonal beige or deep maroon raw silk kurta so the weave leads the eye.
