A handwoven Banarasi silk saree in coral orange, with Kadhua butti drawn thread by thread across the body. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari, with an intricate Banarasi border framing the drape and an anchor motif closing the anchal. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom. A Kadhua saree is built motif by motif, weft by weft — there is no float thread carried behind the cloth, no embroidered shortcut. The luxury is in the slowness, and in the way the pattern reads with the quiet of something that was woven, not added. The drape carries a second weave: Ektara. Where Kadhua gives the piece its precision, Ektara gives it its hand — softer, flowier, with a deeper gloss and an easier hand to drape. Styling Note Drape Nivi to let the coral read against itself. Pair with polki or antique-gold; coral takes warm metals especially well. A deeper rust or burnt-orange raw silk blouse extends the warmth.
