A Munga silk Banarasi saree in a soft, mineral grey, with Kadhua motifs placed thread by thread across the body and a Banarasi border framing the drape. The anchal carries an anchor composition that follows the language of the body. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari — the border and anchal are worked in zari and read clearly against the grey ground. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom. Kadhua places each butti as a discrete event on the loom — its own weft, its own discipline, its own moment. Weeks of placement go into a single drape, and that slow accumulation is what gives Banarasi its quiet, unhurried luxury. Styling Note Drape in a classic Nivi with the anchal pleated softly over the shoulder. Pair with polki or kundan in old-gold settings, and choose a blouse in dove grey, smoke or ivory raw silk to keep the weave the focus.
