A handwoven Banarasi Katan silk saree in deep bottle green, drawn over with Kadhua motifs woven thread by thread across the body. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari — an intricate Banarasi border closes the drape, with the aanchal carrying the same motif language into the pallu. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom. A deep green is a ground that gives the gold zari weight — the contrast is built into the cloth itself, with every motif set into the body thread by thread in Kadhua. There are no float threads on the reverse, no shortcuts in the placement; the patience the loom demands is what makes the drape a luxury rather than a piece of decoration. The drape carries a second weave: Ektara. Where Kadhua gives the piece its precision, Ektara gives it its hand — softer, flowier, with a deeper gloss and an easier hand to drape. Styling Note Drape Nivi or Bengali-style with the pallu fanned wide so the motifs read across the green ground. Pair with antique-gold, polki or temple jewellery and a mossy green, ivory or contrast gold raw silk blouse. Weave Kadhua & Ektara Motif Thread-by-thread Kadhua motifs across the body Zari Gold zar
