A handwoven Katan silk Banarasi saree in soft yellow, drawn over with Kadhua floral motifs and finished with a flowering border that runs the length of the drape. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari, the florals worked thread by thread. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom. Floral Kadhua sits in a long lineage of Banarasi composition where each flower is built into the weave itself. The placement is set in advance and held throughout the warp — any drift would show, which is why the weaver works slowly and to plan. The result is a saree whose pattern reads as one continuous, deliberate composition. Styling Note Drapes beautifully in a Nivi style. Pair with kundan or polki jewellery and a deep mustard or rust-toned raw-silk blouse to lift the warm palette.
