A village marketplace describes a typical rural celebration, with multiple women selling their wares. In rural Indian art, decorated cows in the foreground represent Kamadhenu (the sacred wish-fulfilling cow)- general agricultural prosperity, celebrating the vital relationship between humanity, livestock, and nature. The body of the saree is in a muted and earthy pink with silver and gold zari buttas in diamond and annapakshi motifs all over. The morning evening contrast borders are in red with traditional designs in gold zari and the pallu has a column of twin peacock motifs flanking geoemetric patterns in gold zari. The attached blouse is in red with a zari arm band matching the saree border.
A mood, an occasion, a feeling, matched to real, wearable pieces from independent Indian brands.
