A dusty lilac katan silk saree handwoven in Varanasi over a fine self-striped ground, the body scattered with prancing-horse butis in sona-rupa gold and silver zari. The pallu end carries a diamond-jaal zari panel, and the saree is finished with a shikargah border — a woven hunting scene of deer, animals and foliage that runs along the edge. Worked in kadwa, each motif is individually woven into the cloth. The shikargah, one of the most intricate and storied of Banarasi designs, gives this soft lilac saree real depth of craft. Suited to weddings, festive gatherings and celebrations — pairs well with ruby, garnet or yellow stone jewellery. Video of the Saree
