A soft pink Banarasi saree in pure Katan silk, drawn over with a continuous floral jaal in the Chinar Jangla layout that runs from selvedge to selvedge. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari — vine and bloom build across the body in an unbroken composition. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom. A Jangla layout is unforgiving. The continuous vine and bloom has to flow without break across the full body of the saree, which means every weft has to align across hundreds of inches — and on a hand loom, that alignment is the work of weeks. The intricacy is what makes the cloth rare. Styling Note Drape in Nivi for a clean front display of the jaal, or open the pallu for a fuller view. Pair with kundan or polki — soft pink takes both. A deeper rose or tonal-pink raw silk blouse keeps the focus on the weave.
