A coral pink katan silk saree handwoven in Varanasi in the zari tanchoi technique, the body covered in an all-over floral creeper jaal worked in gold zari. The pallu deepens into a dense panel of scrolling florals, the gold catching warmly against the vivid coral ground. Tanchoi is among the finest of Banarasi weaves — woven with multiple weft threads into a smooth, satin-like cloth with a clean reverse, lending both sheen and a substantial fall. A saree with real presence, its richness carried entirely in the weave. Suited to weddings, receptions and festive occasions — pairs well with gold, kundan or coloured stone jewellery.
