Kora silk has a quality that no other Banarasi base can replicate — a crisp, slightly stiff hand that holds its drape while letting light pass through it in a way that makes the zari glow from within rather than on top. This [dusty lilac / pista green] saree works with that quality rather than against it. The body is scattered with large ashrafi butis — full circular coin motifs — kadwa-woven in alternating gold and silver zari. The circles are unhurried in their placement, sitting across the ground with enough space between them to let the silk breathe. Vertical zari stripes run the length of the body, giving structure without weight. The border is spare — a narrow triple-line zari finish that frames without competing. Light enough for warm-weather weddings, summer festive occasions, and daytime functions. Wear with a silk or cotton blouse in ivory, gold, or a deeper tone of the ground colour.
A mood, an occasion, a feeling, matched to real, wearable pieces from independent Indian brands.
