A crimson red katan silk saree handwoven in Varanasi in the zari tanchoi technique, the body covered in a fine all-over patola-style jaal in gold zari. The pallu end deepens into a zigzag-stripe zari band, the gold glowing richly against the deep red ground. Tanchoi is one of the most refined Banarasi weaves — woven with multiple weft threads into a smooth, satin-like cloth with a clean reverse, lending both sheen and a substantial fall. The dense geometric jaal gives the saree a regal, all-over richness carried entirely in the weave. Suited to weddings, receptions and festive occasions — pairs well with emerald, jade or gold jewellery. Video of the Saree
